OS/2 and eCS website index (from Truman Phillips)
We've probably all seen the old links sites that currently list alot of old OS/2 links, like from 1996, 97, 98 etc....
Well, I am working on a new links system on my site, where new sites can be added, modified and issearchable by website visitors. I will also be taking suggestions for categories as needed.
Once every month all links would be verified. This would eliminate old, non-existent links, and keep the fresh ones at the top. I hope to make this a mini-index for eComstation and OS/2 based sites.

eCS hardwarelist (from David Hart)
I am in the process of compiling a list of hardware that works on eCS.
I look at ads in the paper about CD Writers, Laptops, Sound Cards, Printers and then go to each company's website to see if there is support for OS/2 and eCS. Anyone else who has done the same has probably run into the same problem.
So, I decided what better way to find out lots of info for my list than ask eCS users.
I have been placing my website on lists in the computing areas of places like yahoo, so that others who want a really stable OS can find info in one place.
Please send your hardware info to planetecs@yahoo.com and include manufacturer, model, and any other info you think would be helpful.

A new review of eComStation 1.0 GA (General Availability), as demonstrated by Kim Cheung at the last Southern California OS/2 User Group (SCOUG) meeting, is online. The article is in three sections. The first section covers the actual eCS demonstration, the second discusses the five alternatives to eCS, and the third looks at how eCS is designed to make it easier for OS/2 users to migrate to Windows.

The OS/2 Multimedia Infrastructure Project (from Darwin O'Connor)
This is a good OS/2 Multimedia idea project that I had found at the newsgroups. Check the idea !!
(from: comp.os.os2.multimedia)
Over the years people has been releasing OS/2 programs with support for new multimedia formats, like mp3 audio and mpeg2 video, and new interface features, like skins, but they have always been in the form of stand alone applications. What I would like to see is a separation of media decoders and interfaces using MMOS/2, so that any media file can be played with any interface.
I'd be interested in anyone's comments.
