SDL for OS/2 and eCS (from Adrian Gschwend) |
The SDL library libsdl was ported to OS/2 by a netlabs developer, the code is based on the version 1.2.6.
The following things are missing from this SDL implementation: - CD-ROM - Joystick - Any kind of hardware acceleration or optimization - Window Manager messages About SDL: Simple DirectMedia Layer is a cross-platform multimedia library designed to provide low level access to audio, keyboard, mouse, joystick, 3D hardware via OpenGL, and 2D video framebuffer. It is used by MPEG playback software, emulators, and many popular games, including the award winning Linux port of \"Civilization: Call To Power.\" This library is not really used yet on OS/2 but this should eliminate the chicken/egg problem at least ;) The future of the port depends on the need for it so you are welcome to port games and other things based on libsdl to OS/2 and eCS. Check the project homepage for more ideas: http://www.libsdl.org Any patches, enhancements or questions regarding the OS/2 port (and just such questions!) can be sent to \"doodle a t scenergy.dfmk.hu\" Compiler used for this port: OpenWatcom, but GCC should probably work as well with some minor changes of the original makefiles (patches are welcome). Files: this is the full SDL1.2.6 source code with .obj files and .exe files inside this contains only source code, and only the ones needed to compile it on OS/2 ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/sdl/ -> comments: 0 [ Version for printing ] [ Send via eMail ] |
