Retrocade for OS/2 Alpha 3 (from Marty)
Retrocade is a multi-arcade game emulator, similar to MAME. It supports fewer games than MAME does (about 120 or so) but the emulation cores were designed for SPEED! The "business" part of the code was written almost entirely in assembly language and it shows!

In addition to the speed advantage over MAME, Retrocade offers a very attractive and futuristic GUI of its own making its oveall package very impressive. If you're a an of MAME or a fan of old arcade games, give it a try!

New / fixes in this version:
  • FULL SCREEN GRAPHICS using Scitech's MGL
  • Mouse support
  • Partial vector game support (will be fixed/sped up for next release)

The currently released version is *alpha* level code. Please be sure to read the ReadMe.OS2 file before running it for the first time. This version finally lives up to the speed of the DOS version. The power of Scitech's MGL shines through in the fact that your CPU will likely be bored out of its mind with low utilization while you waste hours playing the old classics (without needed a magnifying glass to see them). ;-)

An MGL version of MAME for OS/2 is planned !

Larsen Commander 1.1.6 (from Leif-Erik Larsen)
Larsen Commander is upgraded to version 1.1.6.

This version is extremely stable and rock solid. It is the last upgrade before version 1.2, which is planned to be released in late summer or autumn this year.

Larsen Commander is a powerful GUI File Manager and Command Processor that has a look and feel like the classic Norton Commander. The most notable difference is that the Larsen Commander is pure GUI. Still it has a built in command line and a scrollable console monitor.

Larsen Commander combines the very best of two very different worlds: the command line and the file management panels. Both available at the same time, and even in parallel while commands are running in the background!

DeleGate 6.1.6 (from Gerhard Arnecke)
DeleGate is a multi-purpose application level gateway, or a proxy server which runs on multiple platforms (Unix, Windows and OS/2). DeleGate mediates communication of various protocols (HTTP, FTP, NNTP, POP, Telnet, etc.), applying cache and conversion for mediated data, controlling access from clients and routing toward servers. It translates protocols between clients and servers, merging several servers into a single server view with aliasing and filtering. Born as a tiny proxy for Gopher in March 1994, it has steadily grown into a general purpose proxy server. Besides proxy, DeleGate can be used as a simple origin server for some protocols (HTTP, FTP and NNTP).

BgMetrics updated (from Wayne Swanson)
BgMetrics, a native OS/2 solution to track Blood Glucose readings and dietary info has been updated. We have added the FoodListing database, a menu builder and some archiving functions. BgMetrics is now reaching it's planned functionality in almost all areas except for the number of meters supported. We hope to add a few more meters in the near future. The Accu-Chek Advantage is supported at this time and it is believed that the Accu-Chek Easy has the same data format so we invite users of either of these meters to begin downloading their data into the program. The downloader will download data from your meter, sort it, search for duplicated information, list all new (unduplicated) records and allow the user to update an existing record or add a new record to the database. BgMetrics will...
  • Track Bg readings for specific events during the day.
  • Track meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks)
  • Track Calories, Protein, Carbs and Fat values for each meal.
  • Track user weight.
  • Track appointments and reminders.
  • Graph Bg readings, carbs and weight for any date range.
  • Print Bg and meal reports and graphs.
  • Download data from supported glucometers.
  • Build menu's to assist in tracking Calories, Protein, Carbs and Fat values easily.
The reports will...
  • Track Maximum, Minimum and overall average of Bg readings.
  • Track daily total Calories, Protein, Carbs and Fat values.
  • Track Maximum and Minimum Calories, Protein, Carbs, Fat and Weight values.
Please stop by the PillarSoft website and download the latest version. While you are there, drop us a line and let us know what meters you use and if you can find any information on the protocol needed to access it.

That OS2TeX-update fixes a stability-problem of the Dvi-preview that sometimes crashed the application if Dvi-windows has been closed. Also is the ghostscript-implementation for Dvi-windows inside the OS2TeX-shell available now. Important: By the fact that the ghostscript-interface is not synchronized only one Dvi-window can use the ghostscript-interface. That means that the users should not view more Dvi-files with EPS-images at the same time. (English description of OS2TeX)
