Here is some more information on the Feature Installer APAR: "Currently, the APAR indicates that this will be fixed in the next release. However, I do not have any information on when the next release will be available. Thosed interested, however, in receiving a fix can call IBM and reference APAR IC25858 and they will be placed on the interested parties list for that APAR." The "fix" is for workplaceshell handle problems. Whenever the actual workplace shell handles for the JDK components differ from the handles store in the feature installer ini files, the Feature Installer will fail forever with a trap while it is trying "to resolve the feature install variable." I don't know why this situataion occurs. However, it happens consistently on any OS/2 computer on which we have loaded the operating system and Java through the CID process. [ Leser: 120 ] |
