Hier noch mal der Betrag aus dem SciTech Forum, den ich gemeint habe:

I have a question concerning the ATI graphics chipsets used in the IBM Thinkpad T40p.
Looking through IBM support, I find 4 possible graphics chipsets:
http://www-3.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-46451#video
* 16MB ATI Mobility RADEON video chipset
* 32MB ATI Mobility RADEON 7500 video chipset
* 32MB ATI Mobility RADEON 9000 video chipset
* 64MB ATI Mobility FIRE GL 9000 video chipset
Looking into the SNAP documentation I can see that the first 3 RADEON chipsets are supported while the FIRE GL is not mentioned. Doing a search in the newsgroup suggested that the FIRE GL may work with VBE.
Question:
What is the current situation with the ATI Mobility FIRE GL 9000?
Has anyone tried it and does it work with the 1400x1050 LCD?
Thanks for your help.

I'm not going to promise it, but it will probably be detected as a Mobility Radeon 9000, and work just fine. If not, it will work with VBE.

That should be no problem (although you can't run 1400x1050 on the CRT and LCD simultaneously).

I have a Thinkpad T40p, so I'm _sure_ it has a Mobility FireGL 9000
(I keep WindowsXP installed, and it detects it as such).
SNAP detects it as a Mobility Radeon 9000 and I have NO problems whatsoever. Even the OpenGL demo's work fine.

Thank you very much! That helps a lot.

Ist zwar kein TP41p, aber vielleicht hilft es.
