Tyra/2 1.91 Patch #2 (from Joerg Sievers)
For the config.sys editor Tyra/2 1.91 exists an update. Tyra/2 1.91 (with or without patch #1) has to be already installed on the system. The complete installation archive will be also updated in the next days.
Changes:
  • Bootdrive routines have been changed. The ones from the tyrautil.dll had problems with hidden drives.
  • Added systemlevels from MCP1, MCP2, MCP2 and eCS Fix 1, Fixpak 16.
  • If the systemlevel is unknown to Tyra/2, it will display thewhole string returned from the routine.
  • The spelling of "fixpack" has been corrected to "fixpak".
  • The timezone drop down box now displays the second time you have started Tyra/2 the entry you have selected before.
  • On the welcome tab page the string "Tyra/2 1.91 Patch 2" is displayed so that it is easy to identify the Tyra/2 version installed on the system.
  • In the "About" box the Tyra/2 build is visible.
  • The newly designed icon (from Joerg Skottke) for version 1.92 has been added to this patch, too.

GNU make 3.79.1 (from Timo Maier)
Make is a tool which controls the generation of executables and other non-source files of a program from the program's source files. Make gets its knowledge of how to build your program from a file called the makefile, which lists each of the non-source files and how to compute it from other files. When you write a program, you should write a makefile for it, so that it is possible to use Make to build and install the program.

Free VPN Client (from Roderick Klein)
A 100% free VPN client for os/2 which implements the PPtP protocol (Point to Point tunneling Protocol) standard This is based on the Linux PPtP project.
The last posting regarding the PPtP client for OS/2 on my homepage, I hope did not give people any false hopes.... I already posted a message about the PPtP client about a year ago. The client is almost finished. It was ported from Linux and it uses the xfree86 driver.
It was ported by somebody from Austria, he sadly left OS/2. If somebody wants to finish it you can download the source from my homepage. I can not provide assistance in fixing the problem in the xfree86 driver.
Neither can the person from Austria. There is mailing list where people can discuss the package. If you get it working please send the results back to me. I will place a note on my website to give you eternal fame :) And place the new source code there with binaries. Thats better then a second homepage that is put up....
I however have my doubts if this port realy deserves the first price in
the beauty contest :) Using xfree86 to run a PPtP client is not the right way. In the sense that it could be proper. When the software on my
homepage is however modified in the right way it can work stable and quite fast.
