Martin Vieregg has released Hypermake 3.99
With Hypermake (earlier version "MakeIPF"), you can easily create HTML files

XWorkplace and WarpIN V0.9.8 out (from Ulrich Moeller)
WarpIN and XWorkplace have both been updated to V0.9.8.
Note that XWorkplace and WarpIN V0.9.7 were never officially released, but since some people managed to get hold of them anyway, that version number was skipped to avoid confusion.
1. WarpIN V0.9.8 has been released.
WarpIN is intended to become the new universal OS/2 installer. It is becoming more and more popular among OS/2 developers because of its flexibility and ease of use. It has full system configuration (CONFIG.SYS, WPS classes, WPS objects) and can fully undo all the changes to your system again. V0.9.8 is mainly another maintenance release. This fixes bug with target paths and CONFIG.SYS manipulation.
2. XWorkplace V0.9.8 is out also.
XWorkplace is the most feature-rich freeware Workplace Shell enhancer on the planet, and even better, it is OpenSource. XWorkplace is the successor to my popular XFolder utility and has become a Netlabs project. Among many other things, XWorkplace gives you the following features:
  • Tons of folder enhancements, such as status bars, freely configurable context menus, global sort options, and much more.
  • Extended file associations, which replace the illogical WPS associations by type and filter separately.
  • Easy CONFIG.SYS management thru a WPS object.
  • A trash can which supports all WPS delete operations.
  • Replacement default icons.
  • Improvements to startup and shutdown: boot logos, a replacement startup folder, a complete rewrite of the OS/2 shutdown sequence (including automatic reboot, APM power-off, and a shutdown folder).
  • Mouse and keyboard enhancements, including sliding focus, sliding menus, global object hotkeys, folder hotkeys, mouse-button-3 scrolling.
  • Enhanced multimedia, such as more system sounds.
In addition, V0.9.8 now gives you the XCenter (a WarpCenter replacement) and a "font folder" for viewing, installing, and deinstalling fonts. Besides, PageMage is becoming really useable now. To install XWorkplace, you also need the latest WarpIN. See my homepage for detailed information and download addresses:
http://www2.rz.hu-berlin.de/~h0444vnd/os2.htmWarpIN and XWorkplace are Netlabs projects, released under the GNU General Public Licence. The source code is available on the Netlabs CVS server. See www.netlabs.org/nosa and my homepage for details. We have created four mailing lists at www.egroups.com.
  • warpin-user
  • warpin-dev
  • xworkplace-user
  • xworkplace-dev<(/ul>for WarpIn and XWorkplace users and developers, respectively. We are grateful for feedback on these mailing lists.
Note: If you have linked to the above address of my hompage, please update your links to point to www.netlabs.org instead, because my homepage will change in the near future. The Netlabs pages will be updated shortly.

    Have fun!

PM Download Center 0.5.8 (from Daniel Caetano)
The new version (0.5.8) of PMDC is out. It has not great improvements over previous ones. Just a few bug fixes (some SYS3175 errors corrected, corrected also the problem on selecting download/scan folders). Also, this version has an automatic clipboard URL paste on "Add URL" dialog. The WGet version was changed. Now it displays percentage, time ramaining and so on, instead of the "old dots". On the internal side, this version is already compiled with VAC++ 4.0. The file seems to be at the same size, but it appears to be faster than previous one. On the "aesthetical" side, I had added a image with Mr Nomono (for those that doesn't know, Mr Nomono is that nice guy on the Fudeba Software logo) for PMDC and Fudeba Software folders' background. I also tried to solve the initial logo and about dialog cut problem. Now they should be shown in the correct size.

SysInfo/2 ver. 0.7.10 (from Alexey S. Smirnov)
I uploaded my new SysInfo/2 (build 0.7.10) to Hobbes and SysInfo/2 project homepage. Main changes are:
  • On the first page OS/2 version detection algorithm and FixPack level and KERNEL level detection algorithm were rewritten. Now SysInfo/2 will show OS/2 version and FixPack level in accordance with SYSLEVEL.* files information
  • On "Memory" page processes, threads and modules enumerating algorithm was rewritten. Now SysInfo/2 will show correct number of modules, threads and processes running in system.
  • Also there - memory distribution detection algorithm was rewritten too. For now it will work faster and will show more accurate results.
  • Also there - memory leaks corrected in memory distribution detection algorithm
  • On "Video" page - video detection algorithm is rewritten again. Now it will show correct video memory ammount and Video adapter DAC description (for now is only tested to work with SDD)
  • "Help" button is temporary disable until author finished the development of SysInfo/2 help system
  • On "Network" page - TCP/IP information gathering algorithm was modified, so for now all information (IP address, address mask, subnet gateway) is recieving through software calls.
Note: This algorithm is based on 32 bit TCP/IP stack. If you are using oldest 16 bit stack - SysInfo/2 will recieve all TCP/IP information by parsing MPTN and TCPIP configuration files. Also, I hope that this version of SysInfo/2 will be published on eCS 3rd party CD. This is very stable and I think as bugfree as possible version of my product. But, ofcourse, I'll be very happy to recieve your bugreports and suggestions.
Regards, Alexey Smirnov.

CDBFlite - Command line DBF Viewer and Editor (from Sergey Chehuta)
The CDBFlite program allows users to work with .DBF files format from command line. You can carry out various actions, which don't requires presence of the man in a batch mode. Generally speaking, the program is high-grade command line DBF viewer and editor. If you are familiar with SQL language, you can notice some similar moments. As parameters are transferred into command line the syntax differs, but principles of work same.
UPDATE somefile.dbf SET name="John", age=30 where id=1000
CDBFlite somefile.dbf /filter:id=1000 /field:name="John",age=30 /update
CDBFlite supports all existing fields types and all memo-fields types. CDBFlite program can be applied on WEB-server. By the way, PERL or PHP have not those opportunities for work with .DBF, which are given by CDBFlite.

Unzip 5.42 (from Klaus Staedtler)
GENERAL INFO
UnZip is an extraction utility for archives compressed in .zip format (also called "zipfiles"). Although highly compatible both with PKWARE's PKZIP and PKUNZIP utilities for MS-DOS and with Info-ZIP's own Zip program, our primary objectives have been portability and non-MSDOS functionality.

CHANGES AND NEW FEATURES
The 5.42 maintance release fixes more bugs and cleans up the redistribution conditions:
  • removal of unreduce.c and amiga/timelib.c code to get rid of the last distribution restrictions beyond the BSD-like Info-ZIP LICENSE
  • new generic timelib replacement (currently used by AMIGA port)
  • more reasonable mapping rules of UNIX "leading-dot" filenames to the DOS 8.3 name convention
  • repaired screensize detection in MORE paging code (was broken for DOS/OS2/WIN32 in 5.41)

The only thing I want to mention - Dialer/2 should be used when no other programs are accessing com-port. Otherwise, Dialer/2 may not see modem answers, like "BUSY" or "NO CARRIER", so audodial feature will not work.

Ogg Vorbis for OS/2 (from Frank Berke)
Brian Havard, author of File Commander/2 and maintainer of the Apache/2 recently (01-01-07) has ported the Ogg Vorbis codes to OS/2:
Ogg Vorbis is an audio compression format similar to MP3 but free of patented algorithms and fully open source. While still in beta it is of a usable quality but not highly optimised so CPU usage is a bit higher than that of typical MP3 encoders & decoders. On my K6-2/450 using PM123 (analyzer turned off), playback uses 20% CPU (MP3 uses 16%). Encoding time using oggenc is around 2x play time.

The password when field in will apply to whichever field is selected (POP or SMTP). The help files are being worked on but were not yet
included in this release. Please let us know whzt causes problems, what you can break, etc.
