Larsen Commander for OS/2 now released as GPL Open Source (from http://www.os2news.com)
From: Leif Erik Larsen < leifelDESPAM@DESPAMonline.no >

Larsen Commander for OS/2 is now released as Open Source under the GPL (GNU
General Public License - http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.txt ).

The code base is exactly the same as that in the most recent public milestone release (v1.6 Milestone #3), except Leif Erik Larsen has adjusted it for the GPL copyright and stripped out all Windows specific parts of the code.

You can get more information and download the OS/2 source from http://home.online.no/%7Eleifel/lcmd/index.html or from Source Forge at http://sourceforge.net/projects/lcmd where you also can browse the source directly via http://lcmd.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/lcmd/

The Windows version of Larsen Commander is not released as Open Source by now. Leif Erik Larsen will continue to develop Larsen Commander for Windows. His plan is to port the current Windows code form C++ to C# on ..NET. Larsen Commander will then be available for both Windows, Linux and
Mac, and maybe also a .NET version for OS/2 if someone manage to port some valid .NET runtime (such as Mono - see http://www.mono-project.com) to our favorite OS. Only the time will show.

Anyway, the OS/2 version of Larsen Commander is now available as Open Source, and anyone interested might participate in the further development of it. Please contact Leif Erik Larsen via mail (leifelDESPAM@DESPAMonline.no ) or web (http://home.online.no/%7Eleifel/lcmd/index.html) if you are interested in contributing.

Enhanced GBMV/GBMV2 Version 1.40

GBMV2 is a fast and simple bitmap viewer and editor for the
OS/2 and eCS Presentation Manager. GBMV is a simple bitmap viewer.

Get package gbmos2pm140_bin.zip or the WarpIN installation package from Hobbes (see below).

Notes for eComStation 1.2/1.2R users:

Please read the installation instructions. eCS 1.2/1.2R ships with an old GBM.DLL (1.12) which prevents loading of the new GBM.DLL (1.52).
Please follow the instructions to use the new GBM.DLL for all programs as well as for eCS WPS features like bitmap previews.
