Drawingboard theme 1.0.4 released (from http://www.os2news.com)
David Graser and Christian Hennecke have released the Drawingboard Theme 1.0.4 for eComStation. This theme was inspired by the MacOS Drawingboard theme by Apple Japan and uses intersecting, fading lines to create the look of engineering pencil sketches.

The theme bundles support for the Window Theme Manager, Icon Theme Manager, eStyler, the Scheme Palette, and Animated Mouse Pointers.

Updates:

- Added two more sets of animated mouse pointers, one based on the same style as the icons, one based on drawing tools

- Replaced lockup icon with icon donated by Alex Taylor

The theme comes as a WarpIN package that includes an option to display a screenshot prior to any installation activities to help you decide whether you want to give it a try or not.

You can obtain the WarpIN package from Hobbes:

http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/cgi-bin/h-search?sh=1&button=Search&key=drawingboard-1-0-4

Warpstock Europe: Presentations available for download (from http://www.os2news.com)
We're pleased to announce that since a couple of days, most of the transcripts (presentation documents) from the sessions at this years Warpstocke Europe event are available for download on the presentations page:

http://www.warpstock.eu/en/agenda/presentations.html

Note however that some of the sessions were done in either workshop style or as an interactive demo, meaning there is no agenda or presentation available for it that we could offer for download.

Yet again we need to thank Michael Oehlhof for providing us with a (more than timely!) extension to the wse_events TYPO3 module in order to enable the website to offer download links for the documents within its templates. Thanks, Michael!

FileStar/2 v3.00.01 (from http://www.os2news.com)
From: Jim Read < jreadDESPAM@DESPAMgte.net >

The initial release of FileStar/2, v3.00.00, had an anomaly in that if the program was installed in the month of December, it caused an immediate disablement of drag-n-drop and directory operations when run without a key. The error that caused it was found and fixed in pre-release final tests but the corrected file was not included in the final FS/2 build. FlexEdit is not affected since the it was built with the correct file.

This has been fixed in FS/2 v3.00.01 which is now available for download.
For those that have experienced this problem in a FS/2 trial evaluation, please re-download and give it another trial. Users with keys are not affected.

The FTP file name has changed:
http://ftp.filestar.com/public/filestar/fsv30001.zip

The file is also in the download section at:
http://www.filestar.com

Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to those affected.

Firefox 2.0.0.11 (Official) Has Been Released (from http://www.os2news.com)
From: Sander Nyman < 2sanderdDESPAM@DESPAMsbcglobal.net >

Michael Kaply has released Mozilla's Firefox 2.0.0.11 (Official) for OS/2.
This is a stability and security release. It contains the security updates and fixes from version 2.0.0.10, as well as fixing compatibility issues introduced in 2.0.0.10.

You can download it here:

http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0.0.11/contrib/firefox-2.0.0.11.en-US.os2.zip

NOTE: This release requires the C runtime DLLs from Innotek. Version 0.5.1 includes an installer. Available here:

http://download.innotek.de/gccos2/runtime/libc-0.5.1.exe

NOTE: This release requires IPLUGINW.DLL to use the Java and Flash plugins. Available here:

http://e-vertise.com/warpzilla/ipluginw20050915.xpi
or here:
http://download.innotek.de/javaos2/mozilla/ipluginw20050915.xpi

NOTE: To have both Firefox, & Thunderbird in use at the same time (or ANY other Mozilla app) they *MUST* be at the SAME version level, or a mismatched DLL will still be in memory when you attempt to start a second Mozilla based program. The easiest way to get around this limitation, and
use DIFFERENT version levels of Firefox, Thunderbird, Kompozer, etc., is with Rich Walsh's Run! utility. It is tiny, and VERY easy to set up. To make life even easier, I HIGHLY recommend that you download & use the Internet Application Integration utility from Chuck McKinnis, which
actually contains the Run! utility, and sets it up for you, along with coordinating your web browser with your email client for 'mailto' links, etc. You can find it here:

http://7cities.net/~mckinnis/code/iai1050.exe

Or, if you'd rather do it yourself, here is the Run! utility:

http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/util/wps/run_060.zip

Firefox extensions (add-ons) that add new functionality are available here:

https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/?application=firefox

Firefox themes (skins) are available here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/themes/?application=firefox

New enhanced releases of Mozilla applications (Gecko 1.8.1.11 (from http://www.os2news.com)
From: Peter Weilbacher < mozillaDESPAM@DESPAMweilbacher.org >

My newest batch of enhanced Mozilla apps
- SeaMonkey 1.1.7 (integrated internet suite, successor of 'Mozilla')
- PmW-Fx 2.0.0.11 (internet browser, an enhanced Firefox)
- PmW-Tb 2.0.0.11 (eMail client, an enhanced Thunderbird)
is available via http://pmw-warpzilla.sf.net/ .

Enhancements over the official versions are
* SVG and Canvas support
* better WPS integration
* MNG/JNG support
* included ipluginw.dll for plugin support
* high memory support
* other small improvements

All applications need libc063.dll to run, find the package on

ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/gcc .

These releases pick up all the changes done by Mozilla (for their quick regression-fix update) since my last Gecko 1.8.1.x release, i.e. between 25 Oct 2007 and 29 Nov 2007. This includes fixes for three security issues.

Cheers,
Peter.
