ClipView 3.2 released (from http://www.os2news.com)
Clipview 3.2 is released

http://www.deezee.org/ClipView.html

New features bug fixes etc:

Added -A switch 'Autosave on Copy'.
Added -b switch 'Browse on URL Capture'.
Added 'Process Clip Through'.
Added 'www.' to URL detection for browse option.
Changed C compiler to gcc 3.3.5, so now need Innotek libc not EMX.
Fixed file type for temp file used in clip editing.
Fixed crash with empty .ClipSave file.

Clipview is now NLS ready.
Supported languages are: Dutch, French, German & Swedish.
Please note that only the Swedish version is at the 3.2 level.
The others are in the process of being updated from 3.1.
Check the web site for the latest.

If you want your language and are prepared to translate then
drop me an email for the files etc..

N.B. ClipView 2.5 & above uses a changed .ClipSave format.
It is NOT backwards compatible.
Upgrading from earlier versions should not present any problems.

I don't know about you, but I always seem to want to paste what I clipped
three operations back :-) So I wrote ClipView, based on the Unix program
cutview.

The Clipview suite of programs consists of:

ClipView v3.2 - Gives multiple text clipboards. Clips may be printed,
edited, saved to a buffer and locked. Optionally the entire set of clips
and their state can be saved across invocations of ClipView.

ClipPrint v1.2 - Prints the current text contents of the clipboard.

PipeClip v2.3 - Used on the command line to pipe output to the clipboard.
eg dir /w | pipeclip

ClipPipe v1.0 - Used on the command line to pipe input from the clipboard.
eg clippipe | someprogram

ClipWait v1.0 - Used in scripts to wait until something gets written to
the clipboard.

CV_Client_OS2 2.1 } These are now considered stable.
} They allow clipboards to communicate
CV_Server_OS2 2.1 } across machines.

CV_Client_WIN 2.1 } These are considered Beta.
} They allow clipboards to communicate
CV_Server_WIN 2.1 } across machines.

------------------------------------------------------
(freely usable, see license included)

This is a plugin for the Webbrowsers Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox and
SeaMonkey available for OS/2 and eComStation that extends them for
the support of reading all bitmap formats supported by GBM.DLL.
It requires GBM.DLL 1.50 or higher. Do not use GBM 1.41 any longer.

Supported features:

Fullscreen mode viewer with a load of features:
* menus, popup menu, scrollers
* variable scaled preview
* transformations mirror/transpose/rotate
* multipage navigation
* bitmap format info dialog

* English and German localized with autodetection via LANG variable

Get package gbmos2plugins_lu123_moz130_bin.zip from Hobbes.
It is also included in the WarpIN installation package (see below).

GBM plugin 1.23 for Lucide beta 5 or higher
-------------------------------------------
(freely usable, see license included)

This is a plugin for the Lucide document viewer available for eComStation
that extends Lucide for the support of reading all bitmap formats
supported by GBM.DLL.
It requires GBM.DLL 1.35 or higher. GBM 1.50 is recommended.

It is also included in the WarpIN installation package (see below).

So far Lucide Beta 5 (or higher) is not yet released. The above plugin does
not work anymore with Lucide Beta 4 because the plugin API has changed.
Users of Lucide Beta 4 can download a compatible version from
http://heikon.home.tlink.de.

For more details please have a look at the change log in the included
documentation or at my GBM homepage (see below).

GBM.DLL 1.50 and GBM command line tools
---------------------------------------
(Public Domain)

The Generalised Bitmap Module (GBM) is a library capable of loading and
saving bitmap files in a variety of popular and less popular bitmap file
formats. Programs may be written to use this code, and thus be able to
access a variety of file formats without actually knowing what format
the pictures are in, or any details about file format itself.

In this version, extended BMP, JPG, PNG, TIF, PBM, PGM, PPM, PNM and XPM
support is additionally included. PNG and TIF support also 16, 32, 48, 64 bpp
colour depths with/without alpha channel. PPM supports also 48 bpp
colour depth. BMP supports also OS/2 RLE24 and Windows 16/32 bpp RGB
and BITFIELDS formats.

It comes with a useful set of command line bitmap manipulation tools.

Get package gbmos2_150_bin.zip from Hobbes.
It is also included in the WarpIN installation package (see below).

Notes for eComStation 1.2/1.2R users:
-------------------------------------
Please read the installation instructions. eCS 1.2/1.2R ships
with an old GBM.DLL (1.12) which prevents loading of the new
GBM.DLL (1.50). Please follow the instructions to use the new
GBM.DLL for all programs as well as for eCS WPS features like
bitmap previews.
If you cannot replace the eCS shipped GBM.DLL, please execute
unlock x:\\os2\\dll\\gbm.dll from a command line. Then override
the old GBM.DLL with the new one. Don\'t forget to reboot afterwards.

Enhanced GBMV2 Version 1.31
---------------------------
(Public Domain)

GBMV2 is a fast and simple bitmap viewer and editor for the
OS/2 and eCS Presentation Manager.

Enhanced release of the GBMV2-Viewer from the GBMOS2PM package:
* An English and a German version of GBMV2 is included.
* An English and a German version of the GBM file dialog is included.

Enhanced version of the GBM File Dialog (GBMDLG.DLL 1.31):
* Bitmap preview within the file dialog
* Redesign to fit eComStation file dialog style

Several extensions for keyboard shortcuts have been added.
Both parts got new resources that better fit to the Warp 4
and eComStation look & feel. Resources for fonts 8.Helv and
9.WarpSans for both, German and English are available in the
sources package.

Get package gbmos2pm131_bin.zip from Hobbes.
It is also included in the WarpIN installation package (see below).

GBM.DLL REXX adapter library (GBMRX 1.01)
-----------------------------------------
(Public Domain)

GBMRX.DLL is a REXX adapter DLL for OS/2 and eComStation which
REXX programs may use to load or save all bitmap file formats
supported by the GBM.DLL (to/from a file).

Almost full feature set of GBM.DLL is provided by the REXX API.
I/O remapping is not supported due to language restrictions.

Get package gbmos2rx103_bin.zip from Hobbes.
It is also included in the WarpIN installation package (see below).

GBM File Dialog REXX adapter library (GBMDLGRX 1.03)
----------------------------------------------------
(Public Domain)

The REXX adapter DLL allows REXX programmers to use the GBM File
Dialog in their programs. It requires availability of GBM.DLL
and the GBM File Dialog DLLs (GBMDLG.DLL and GBMDLG.HLP).

Get package gbmos2rx103_bin.zip from Hobbes.
It is also included in the WarpIN installation package (see below).

The homepage of GBM for OS/2 and eCS

XWorkplace 1.0.6 (from http://www.os2news.com)
http://xworkplace.netlabs.org/

'XWorkplace is the successor to Ulrich Möller's popular XFolder WPS-Enhancer utility. It contains all of its features and a lot of new ones. XWorkplace is Open Source software under the GNU General Public Licence (GPL),
probably making it the most feature-rich freeware Workplace Shell enhancer on the planet. Everyone is kindly invited to join the project and contribute -- be it small bugfixes, or add the feature that you've always wanted to see in the WPS.'

XWorkplace 1.0.6 has been released. This fixes a load of bugs. You can find it in the usual places on Netlabs and Hobbes:
ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/xworkplace/xwp-1-0-6.exe
and
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/new/xwp-1-0-6.zip
moving to
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/apps/wps/xworkplace/xwp-1-0-6.zip

Note: Requires WarpIN 1.0.12 or later

Please report *reproducible* bugs on the bugtracker at:
http://xtracker.netlabs.org

From the xWorkplace User Guide and Reference:

XWorkplace 1.0.6 (December 8, 2006)

All the bugs below have been fixed by Paul Ratcliffe unless otherwise noted.

Bugfixes:

*Fixed a trap in the daemon when deselecting the XWP Hook with Xcenter's
Window List widget active. Bug 748.

*Fixed a trap when double clicking on a section header in the Device Drivers tree on the Drivers tab of the OS/2 Kernel object. Bug 762.

*Fixed cosmetic issues with the Driver description and Parameters boxes on the Drivers tab of the OS/2 Kernel object. Bug 288.

*Fixed traps and other incorrect behaviour relating to dragging and dropping. The Trashcan can now accept 'discard' objects, like the Shredder. Bugs 806, 815, 817 and 829. Fixed by Lars Erdmann.

*Fixed a problem relating to launching objects using hotkeys, especially with the XCenter. Bug 792.

*XPager window dragging to other virtual desktops now snaps to the same location. Holding down the Shift key allows windows to be positioned anywhere. This is the reverse of the previous behaviour, at user request. Bug 733.

*The main icon for the 'XWorkplace Installation' folder was updated - this was only partially applied in the previous version. Bug 760.

*Fixed a bug with the XShutdown configuration dialog wouldn't switch back from ACPI to APM shutdown. Bug 728.

*Fixed a bug during initial installation of the XCenter where it wasn't adding the 'Desktop Lock', 'Find Utility', and 'Shutdown' objects. Bug 749.

*The XCenter Tray selection bitmap was made bigger to match the other icons. Bug 729.

*Fixed bugs with the DEFAULTOBJECT and OPEN setting strings being ignored with XWPString objects. Bug 823.

*Implemented folder setup string DEFAULTVIEW=SPLITVIEW. Fixed OPEN= setup string for disk objects which was mostly completely unimplemented. Bug 827.

*Stopped the Shredder Object from behaving like the Trash Can (except if Shift is pressed). Bug 413.

*The keyboard NumLock LED was not always set correctly when using the 'Enable NumLock on Startup' feature. Bug 831.

*The default for XCenter's 'Automatically add to screen border' function is now off. Disabling this setting now also clears the relevant screen border setting. Fixed Default/Undo processing for XCenter's View properties page.
Bug 224.

*Printer and Transient objects are now prevented from being moved to the Trash Can.

*Showing or maximizing a previously maximized and then minimized view of the WPS Class List caused the window not to display properly. Also affected Folder Split Views. Bug 865.

*Fixed a bug with XCenter's folder object buttons which sometimes didn't bring the folder to the top of the Z-order. Bug 319.

*Fixed a bug with the Screen borders notebook page where the settings were not being saved correctly. Bug 56.

*Window List size/position and presentation parameters (font/colors) were not being saved. Bug 458.

*Fixed a bug with using 'Open as, XCenter' from an XCenter's context menu, which did nothing. Bug 889.

*Split view folder status bars now update correctly when changing focus between the tree and files containers using the mouse. Bug 326.

*Some of the developer documentation was updated. Thanks to Christian Hennecke.

*Updated the XWorkplace WarpIN installation scripts to solve some problems with the NLS packages. Fixed by Paul Ratcliffe/Christian Hennecke/Chuck McKinnis.

Warpin 1.0.14 (from http://www.os2news.com)
http://warpin.netlabs.org/

'WarpIN is intended to become the new general-purpose installer for OS/2 to overcome the current lack of a both flexible and user-friendly installer. This thing is available to any programmer, commercial, shareware, freeware
or GPL, for free use, even though WarpIN itself is released under the GNU General Public Licence (GPL). Since the GPL does not restrict usage, and 'usage' with WarpIN is creating and installing archives, you can use it to
distribute anything you like.'

WarpIN general purpose installer for OS/2.

V1.0.14 (December 8, 2006)

Fixes:

-- Closing the Archive, View window caused WarpIN to exit. Bug 896.

-- Added a FAIL option to the CREATEOBJECT attribute. Bug 893.

-- Updated documentation for the EXECUTE and DEEXECUTE attribues. Bug 894.
