Wcd v5.1.3 (from http://news.warpevents.eu/) |
Wcd is a command-line program to change directory fast. It saves time typing at the keyboard. One needs to type only a part of a directory name and wcd will jump to it. Wcd has a fast selection method in case of multiple matches and allows aliasing and banning of directories. Wcd also includes a full screen interactive directory tree browser with speed search. Wcd was modeled after Norton Change Directory (NCD). NCD appeared first in *The Norton Utilities, Release 4*, for DOS in 1987, published by Peter Norton. Wcd has been ported to different command-line shells: DOS command.com, Windows cmd.exe and PowerShell, OS/2 cmd.exe, and Unix shells such as Bourne (sh), Bourne Again (bash), Korn (ksh), Z (zsh), and C (csh) shell and others running on any operating system.
Wcd supports 8 bit character sets on all systems, and has optional support for Unicode. See section LOCALIZATION. Links: >-> URL: http://news.warpevents.eu/en/home/news_archive/newsdetails/archive/2010/august/article/wcd_v513.html -> comments: 0 [ Version for printing ] [ Send via eMail ] |

drss 1.0 (from http://news.warpevents.eu/) |
Drss is a simple news reader. These programs are also called aggregators. Drss lets you organize your RSS news sources in folders by whatever categories you want. It takes a reasonable guess at which sources have changed and highlights those. It won’t store all the articles that you have read, nor does it keep any statistics on your behaviour. The feed summary subwindow supports reasonable html encoded texts and reasonable web page content. RSS feeds are not really supposed to send entire web pages, but some of them do.
Changelog:
Added a help manual, and fixed a bug related to deleting feeds.
Version 0.3 has a mailto feature, nice checking for feed updates. Prerequisites are a little less (no boost) than before.
0.3.5 has different layout, fixes some bugs, is available in Launchpad PPA for Ubuntu. Links: >-> URL: http://news.warpevents.eu/en/home/news_archive/newsdetails/archive/2010/august/article/drss_10.html -> comments: 0 [ Version for printing ] [ Send via eMail ] |

Pdlzip v1.1 (from http://news.warpevents.eu/) |
Pdlzip is a lossless data compressor based on the LZMA algorithm, with very safe integrity checking and a user interface similar to the one of gzip or bzip2. Pdlzip decompresses almost as fast as gzip and compresses better than bzip2, which makes it well suited for software distribution and data archiving. Pdlzip is a public domain version of the lzip data compressor, intended for those who can\’t (or do not want) distribute GPL licensed Free Software. Pdlzip is written in C.
Pdlzip uses public domain compression code from the LZMA SDK written by Igor Pavlov.
Changelog:

[New] Exceptq v7.0 (from http://news.warpevents.eu/) |
I’m pleased to announce the release of Exceptq v7.0. With just 5 lines of code, developers can add Exceptq’s comprehensive trap reporting facility to their apps. If the app encounters a fatal exception, Exceptq will generate a report containing: the call stack, disassembly of the faulting instructions, a stack dump, a listing of dlls loaded into the process, and more. Reports are typically 10-30kb - small enough that they can easily be emailed, even on dialup. -> URL: http://news.warpevents.eu/en/home/news_archive/newsdetails/archive/2010/august/article/new_exceptq_v70.html -> comments: 0 [ Version for printing ] [ Send via eMail ] |
