| Java 1.1.8 fixes (from Larry Lavins) |
| IBM posted new Java 1.1.8 fixes on November 23. Build date is 11-21-2000. Updates include new runtime.exe, samples.exe and toolkit.exe, plus the usual read.me and fixes.lst. Two additional files, os2jre.exe and rmi-iiop-toolkit.exe are also available. As of Nov 26th, the read.me file had still not been updated from Oct 13, but it would be well to review installation instructions contained therein, which have not changed. After installation, execute "java -fullversion" from an OS/2 command prompt to verify that the update has been successfully installed. | TCP/IP 4.3 fix (from Bjarne Jensen) |
| IBM reported that some customers reported routing problems with the recent TCP/IP 4.3 fix (for InJoy). IBM has put a new test fix on testcase (APAR is IC27649). This fix is for TCP/IP 4.3 only. The IC27649.EXE should be run in \MPTN\PROTOCOL and IBM recommends keeping backup copies of the originals. Get the file now, as it will only stay on testcase for a few days. | IBM has released a new BIOS for their Thinkpad T20 laptop range tha documents a fix for the network hang that may happen when the machine returns from suspend under OS/2 and NT4.
