SCOUG: Monitoring Your OS/2 System (from SCOUG Editor)
What's important about OS/2 desktop?
SCOUG member Gary Granat is doing a robust analysis for a multi-part series of articles titled "Seeking Ways to Get Rid of System Bloat." Gary set out several months ago to replace Object Desktop - which he found made his system sluggish - with other programs that met his (sometimes exacting) needs. First, he systematically determined what features of Object Desktop he didn't want to live without. He organized the things he really likes/wants by basic function and is exploring alternatives, many of which are freeware and shareware. The current installment is on system information monitoring tools. You'll find it at the Southern California OS/2 User Group web site.

New Forums for All Sundial Products (from Sundial PR)
To make it easy for customers to share information with each other, Sundial Systems has now added product forums to its Internet site. Mesa 2, DBExpert, Relish, Clearlook, Rover Pack, and JunkSpy each have their own forum which can be accessed directly as a newsgroup and/or messages posted can be received as email. You can access the newsgroups or subscribe to email messages on the Product Forums page of Sundial's web site.
Sundial's technical support staff will be monitoring the product forums to assist and provide information as appropriate. The forums will also be used by technical support to post information about product feature and usage issues that have come to their attention through other support means. This is additional service helps customers get the most out of Sundial's productivity applications.

The Notebook/2 Site updated (from Dr. Martinus)
For some time I was unable to access my account at the OS/2 SuperSit to update the Notebook/2 Site. For about two months now, access has been restored, and I have updated the site considerably. It now lists over 300 Pentium and higher notebooks and gives a lot of driver links as well as information on installing OS/2, which may be relevant to many, not only notebook users.

Partition Magic 5 and OS/2 - A Review by Tony Butka (from Editor, Southern California OS/2 User Group)
Bottom line is that if you *only* run OS/2, then you don't need to read this review. If you also run other operating system(s), then you'll want to find out about the latest release of Partition Magic from PowerQuest. Author Tony Butka tells you what's new and important from an OS/2 user's point of view. You'll find this review of Partition Magic 5 on the SCOUG website.

WarpCast archives on the web at eGroups (from Timur Tabi)
While we here at WarpCast are struggling to get our web archives reorganized, revamped and back online, Timur Tabi has been generous enough to set up an eGroups list which will receive and archive WarpCast posts on the WWW. WarpCast continues to be sent out to our mailing list by email (obviously) and we will eventually have our own in-house web archive back up and running, but in the meantime, if you would like to view past messages (starting with Friday, September 15th, 2000) on the web, point your browser to EGroups. Older WarpCast messages are archived at our main web site.

For those who have not voted yet, the poll will be closed 16-9-2000 on what new object should be added to VisPro REXX. So far the toolbar is winning by one vote. And some interesting suggestions made so far: object to display a jpeg, gif.
