inform you that products CoolFM and ThirdEye will not be supported anymore by OS2.Ru.
We were glad to develop and support these products and we wish we did not part with them.

OS2.org was down (from Andreas Linde)
Hello OS2.org users.
You all problably recognized the problems we have at OS2.org during the last months.

One problem we have is, that Apache/2 isn't really stable, and sometimes it doesn't react on incoming requests any more. We write a small watchdog for that, which will restart Apache/2 if needed. But this can take up to 5 minutes !!

Another problem is a memory leak, which we aren't able to find. The swap partition gets full and so the server crashes. In that case we have to kindly ask the kpnQwest Support (THANKS A LOT for your great support !!) to reboot the server. We hope to solve that problem in a few weeks, after reinstalling the server completely and using other software (e.g. IBM DB2 instead of MySQL). For a temporary fix we moved the SWAP file to a bigger partition. (The file was >400MB, and we have 384MB RAM !!!!)

Now regarding the problem we had this weekend: as we wanted to figure out some problems and being able to solve these, we rearranged the boot process a little bit. But after the next boot, the server didn't come up, and so we had to ask kpnQwest Support for their help again. But this not possible during the weekend, so we solved it on monday. Meanwhile the bug causing the hang has been resolved.

New payment method available for Warpstock 2001 (from Luc Van Bogaert)
New payment method available for Warpstock 2001
Have you tried to register for Warpstock 2001 or purchase some merchandise, but had problems with the PayPal system? Perhaps you live outside the U.S. and were deterred by the 30-day verification delay? If so, then there is a solution. Registering for Warpstock 2001 and buying Warpstock merchandise can be now be done through our eBay store! The URL is http://www.ebaystores.com/warpstock2001.
The Warpstock 2001 eBay store lets you purchase the same items at the same price as with PayPal. It's just another method for OS/2 users to buy Warpstock tickets and merchandise. Some people prefer PayPal, others will prefer the eBay store. The choice is yours, and
after all, isn't that what OS/2 is all about?
The key difference between the PayPal system and the eBay store is that the eBay store does not require you to verify your account with your bank or credit - a process which can take a month with Paypal for people outside the U.S. With the eBay store, payments can be made immediately, via MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or electronic checks drawn directly from
a U.S.-based bank account.
Until September 1, the registration price for Warpstock 2001 is $90 per person for the entire weekend. The exhibitor registration fee is $500. The Saturday night social event is $50. You can also pre-purchase Warpstock shirts and coffee mugs, which can be either picked up at
Warpstock 2001 or delivered to you.
The Warpstock Board of Directors and the Warpstock 2001 Event Team look forward to welcoming the OS/2 community to Toronto for the greatest Warpstock experience ever.
The 5th annual Warpstock conference will be held October 6-8, 2001, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is produced by Warpstock, Inc., a North Carolina non-profit corporation.
