Warpzilla 0.9.2 (from Michael Kaply)
Warpzilla 0.9.2 is available, within hours after Mozilla.org released versions for
Windows, Linux, and Mac.
This build is fully optimized, so the performance is much better than any previous
build.
Notable OS/2 improvements include a fix for the image corruption problems and
some font improvements.
For more general release notes that apply to this and all Mozilla 0.9.2 builds, check
out:
http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla0.9.2
We have had some reports of SSL not working due to optimization issues. If you are
unable to connect to a secure site, please post as much information as you can,
including the site you are trying to connect to and hardware configuration.
If you are using an SMP machine, you will need to use the EXECMODE utility to
bind MOZILLA.EXE to a single processor. We are looking at this problem.
Thanks for your support!

PMView 2.30 (from Joerg)
A new version of PMView has been release on 6/25/01. The following features are new in PMView 2000 v2.30:
  1. SFF (Structured Fax File) file format support (read/write)
  2. Playback of Animated GIF files
  3. The following bugs and problems are fixed in PMView 2000 v2.30:
    1. File Sequencer: Using PgUp/PgDn in PMView's main window when the most recently viewed file has been deleted may cause PMView to crash.
    2. Printing: When the print unit is set to inches or millimeters the minimum printable size is restricted to 1 inch or 1 millimeter respectively.
    3. File Open/Save dialogs: Deselection of files in "Detail" view does not work correctly when the "Sticky Select" option is enabled. (When you click on a file it is selected, but a second click on the same file does not deselect it).
    4. File Open/Save dialogs: When opening the dialog, PMView tries to access the diskette drive. (This behavior/problem was not present in versions prior to v2.14)
    5. File Open/Save dialogs: Dragging files and dropping them back in the source folder causes PMView to crash (Win95/98/ME).
    6. Slideshow: Selecting multiple files in the "File Open" dialog and pressing "Open" to create a slideshow causes the main window to lose focus.
    7. General: If PMView is installed in a folder that contains spaces in the folder name, there will be an error message in new windows launched with the "File->New->PMView Window" function.

New release of Pronews/2 (from Trevor Hemsley)
Not much fixed in this version over ib102. ib104 was an increment of build number while I reintegrated the changes from ib099 to ib103 into a restored copy of the source.
  1. Add checking in SaveHeaderData for malloc success. May stop crashes when saving newsgroups.
  2. Change max filehandles to current + 255 on startup. Hopefully this will stop file open errors.
  3. Release newsgroup semaphore occasionally to stop lockouts
  4. Backout locking changes in nntp.c to try to fix corruption
  5. Backout headers.idx file rewrites to see if this helps the mysterious wandering server problems
  6. Fixed ugly dashes in 640x480 for selected article

Version 2.13c of the LAN Server Management Tools is uploaded to Hobbes.
These REXX based tools will let you detect software levels and some hardware of servers within a domain. It also gets all the accounting info, which you can then modify in ASCII or within any spreadsheet.
As uploaded, it is the current version of a package developed by Alain Rykaert since 1995, and older versions of LSMT have been bundled with RedBooks in the past. While command line based, there is an optional WPS based interface, and the whole is a nice example of REXX programming.

    10.06.2001
    Warpzilla 0.9.1 (from Mike Kaply)
We have focused more on performance in this release.

    This build includes the following:
    • New semaphores in NSPR.
    • New implementation of the JavaScript to C++ calling code
    • The following DLLs have been optimized with VACPP fixPak2
      • XPCOM.DLL
      • GKCONTNT.DLL
      • GKGFX.DLL li>GKPARSER.DLL
We believe these DLLs provide a lot of "bang for the buck". We were unable to optimize the layout DLL (GKHTML.DLL) which would have helped even more.
If you encounter unexpected crashes, and in particular crashes in these DLLs, we have provided unoptimized versions of the DLLs in the UNOPT directory under BIN. Please try using one of these DLLs so we can determine if the problem is related to optimization or not.

    Known Problems
    • Banding across some images
    • Hang when pressing stop during some hostname lookups
    Installation
    • Unzip the ZIP file.
    • Run WARPZFOL.CMD in the BIN directory.
    Enjoy!

      Skins can be found at:
    3. Installation of the XCenter Widget plugin

        • Use parameter /nofs if you experience a PM lockup
        • when starting WarpMedia.exe.
        • Some versions of RC created unloadable skins.
      • AVIDLL.dll
        • A few crashes fixed.
      • WMMPEG1.dll
        • If you had problems with SYS3176, get WMMPEG1-486.zip.
    Get it at:Have fun.
PS: the fact that we're "pissing around with fancy graphics" is exactly what gives WarpMedia potential to become something useful.

NetOp Remote Control 6.5 (from Doug Taylor)
New version offers continued remote support and platform migration options for mission critical OS/2 applications
BOCA RATON, Fla.-- CrossTec Corporation (www.CrossTecCorp.com) announced the release of NetOp for OS/2 v6.5. The new version matches much of the look and functionality of the award-winning NetOp Remote Control for Windows-based computers, including advanced security and file transfer options. Developed by Copenhagen, Denmark based Danware Data A/S, NetOp for OS/2 provides users with fast, secure and stable cross platform remote control, file transfer, and chat capabilities with other OS/2 users as well as any Windows or network DOS NetOp module.
Besides an updated user Interface, designed to look more like the NetOp for Windows Host screen, NetOp for OS/2 includes a new File Manager. According to Soren Andersen, VP of Sales and Marketing with Danware, ôThe NetOp Remote Control File Manager has won numerous awards for speed and features. We took most of that functionality and added it into the new OS/2 version so our corporate customers could easily synchronize files with remote servers and locations.ö The new OS/2 File Manager includes a dual window layout for easy æDrag and DropÆ file selection and transfer, along with a progress meter, delta file transfer, history list and crash recovery..
NetOp for OS/2 also includes TCP support for connecting to remote PCs over the TCP/IP device protocol. By using this dynamic TCP NetOp protocol instead of NetOpÆs default UDP setting, users are able to connect directly to a NetOp Host, which adds speed and may enable users to more easily connect through firewalls. Also added to NetOp for OS/2 is the ability for remote users to send a request help message via network or modem dial-up. NetOp customers rely on the SOS feature so users can easily send a NetOp Instant Message to support providers. Once a technician receives a message, they can easily take control of the troubled user with a click of their mouse, saving the organization valuable time.
Besides enhancements to the NetOp for OS/2 Guest and Host modules, the NetOp for OS/2 Gateway Server and Access Security Server products have been updated as well. The OS/2 Gateway now permits out-going NetOp calls from NetOp Windows users. The NetOp Gateway acts as a secure inbound and outbound software router and firewall for NetOp traffic. The OS/2 Gateway now also enables a request help message from remote NetOp Host to call a NetOp Help Provider on an internal Network. The NetOp Access Security Server, which provides centralized security and management of NetOp Remote Control users, now makes it possible to define a default OS/2 Host group. NetOp can also establish a session with a Windows Host using Windows Security Management authentication.
Developed by Danware Data A/S as a network support tool in 1987, NetOp continues to win awards for its speed, security and stability. NetOp for OS/2 is available in combined guest/host packages starting at $295. Reseller and enterprise site-license pricing is also available. NetOp products, along with personalized pre and post sale support are available in North America from CrossTec or authorized NetOp resellers. For a free fully functional evaluation copy and additional information visit the CrossTec web site at www.CrossTecCorp.com or call 800-675-0729.

JustStyle CSS Editor is a tool, that helps you to create and to manage level 1 style sheets. Many features were added and JustStyle don't requires Java 2 any more. WarpIN/XWorkplace 0.9.12 (from Ulrich Möller)
WarpIN and XWorkplace have both been updated to V0.9.12.

    1. WarpIN V0.9.12 has been released.

WarpIN is intended to become the new universal OS/2 installer. It is becoming more and more popular among OS/2 developers because of its flexibility and ease of use. It has full system configuration (CONFIG.SYS, WPS classes, WPS objects) and can fully undo all the changes to your system again.
V0.9.12 fixes some very annoying bugs. If you had problems with WarpIN crashing with certain archives, you might want to try this new version. Some other things have also been reworked.

    2. XWorkplace V0.9.12 is out also.

XWorkplace is the most feature-rich freeware Workplace Shell enhancer on the planet, and even better, it is OpenSource. XWorkplace is the successor to my popular XFolder utility and has become a Netlabs project. For details, please refer to the download address below.
V0.9.12 fixes quite a number of bugs. In addition, folder sorting has mostly been rewritten, a new "Battery" widget has been added, file types import/export was added, folder default views can now be set globally, and some other new features were added too. To install XWorkplace, you need WarpIN V0.9.9 or higher.
To get the new WarpIN and XWorkplace, please go to: http://www.xworkplace.org
WarpIN and XWorkplace are Netlabs projects, released under the GNU General Public Licence. The source code is available on the Netlabs CVS server. See www.netlabs.org/nosa and the above address for details.
We have created four mailing lists at groups.yahoo.com:
    • warpin-user
    • warpin-dev
    • xworkplace-user
    • xworkplace-dev
for WarpIn and XWorkplace users and developers, respectively. We are grateful for feedback on these mailing lists.

    Have fun!

    PsiConv 1.02 (from Hans Hockx)
PsiConv/PM is a Presentation Manager frontend for use with the PsiConv utility (Linux software ported to OS/2 by Andrei A. Porodko) that lets you convert text and graphics files from your Psion PDA (series 5, Revo or better)to common PC file formats.
PsiConv/PM allows you to convert Psion files using a convenient graphical interface. It doesn't do any conversions itself. It just keeps you away from the command prompt and sends the proper command string to the PsiConv utility.
PsiConv/PM was made using good old VisproRexx Bronze 2.1. A visual development tool for REXX that was developped by HockWare way back in 1995.
Both PsiConv and PsiConv/PM are available as freeware. Both utilities can be downloaded from the 'Psion to OS/2 Connection' website
