Workplace Sans 0.81 (from http://news.warpevents.eu/)

Forwarded message from "Alex Taylor" <http://class='mailtolink'alex@altsanhat.org>

/>Workplace Sans 0.81 has been released.

http://class='extlink'http://users.socis.ca/~ataylo00/creative/fonts/workplace/index.html />su

Changes in this release:
- Minor changes to several character shapes, in particular ’a’, ’w’, ’R’.
- Fractionally widened the number characters.
- A couple of additional characters added.
- Non-bitmap versions are now built with TypeTool version 3; to avoid the
previously-encountered difficulties with this version, TrueType font

metrics are now set manually instead of automatically calculated, and the font width class is set to "normal" instead of "semi-condensed".
- Font is no longer auto-hinted on build: the hinting was observed to cause rounded glyphs to appear too tall on some point sizes. With antialiasing the hinting is not really necessary, and without antialiasing the bitmapped versions are recommended anyway.
- (Bold) Bitmap version now includes Cyrillic.

Afteryour eComStation 2.1 install (from http://news.warpevents.eu/)

Attention: Always backup important data before installation of new version of OS!

1) What applications do you install on new eComStation 2.1 PC?

eCo Market (http://ecomstation.ru/ecomarket) allows

you install the most popular applications without extra efforts.

(What applications do you recommend? Post your list - http://ecomstation.ru/support.php

we add your list to the queue)

2) Known issues. All PC computers are different

(Different manufacturers, different models, different configurations - the behavior of every PC is different). What tricks and tips do you recommend to other users (related to eCS install)? If you have a problem with installation, how to overcome it?

Post 1 advice - http://ecomstation.ru/support.php

we are going publish it in the list of known issues)

3) Report about tested notebook / device.

Post a report to Hardware Database -- http://ecomstation.ru/hardware.php

so other users install eComStation faster and can spend more time to invent new unique features for eComStation.

4) Write a review of new eComStation. Share your emotions with other people. (It would be nice to) Don’t spend time to the installer review, write how do you use eComStation to make your work: automate the processes, generate multimedia materials or calculate scientific data?

The review for Vigilance on Talos V for OS/2 is up (from http://news.warpevents.eu/)

Vigilance on Talos V for OS/2 is a game not unlike the old Metroid series. This side scrolling game was ported over by PolyEx Software and uses the WordUp Graphics Toolkit.

The game is all about finding, and destroy the evil Drektor. He is the leader of the Xeno’s. He is a tough, and worthy opponent. His brain hides in different forms, so he’ll be hard to find. You’ll know him, when you see him though.

The review for Vigilance on Talos V for OS/2 is up, is it crap or worth the download? Read the review and download the full version (OS/2 and DOS Versions) for yourself!

OS/2 Book at Hobbes (from Sergey Posokhov)
OS/2 API Research book, written in Russian (cyrillic), is now available from Hobbes:
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/h-search.php?key=os2book
This is the complete reference and tutorial for Control Program and Presentation Manager programming. Alongside with CP/PM API calls, this book describes modern API calls (eToolkit, LANGE, libKVA) and low-level DDK \"helper\" functions. Based on that, it shows possible roadmap of OS/2 development towards mikrokernels.

Now 9th edition, a.k.a. \"version 4.3\" is available.

Offering for developers: develop small cheap shareware apps (from http://news.warpevents.eu/)

The development of full-featured applications requires many efforts.

That’s why major part of eComStation shareware applications are very expensive (25 - 50 $).

Do the users need large graphics editors like Photoshop?

Major part of users need simple editor for 5$ (or something like this).

Are you interested to develop small shareware applications?

Let’s discuss this topic in the forums on eComStation / OS/2 web-sites.

* How to distribute cheap apps? eCo Market is ready to distribute such products.

* How to accept payments from users? via Gift Cards

* How to make payments to the developers? connect the developers to Mensys / BMT Micro
