VMware support for OS/2 |
VMware is currently working on supporting OS/2 inside a virtual machine and they have some decisions to make. Your feedback would be appreciated. There are many motivations for supporting OS/2 inside a virtual machine instead of native. These include improved device driver support, system administration benefits, and increased security (e.g., from viruses) and privacy, without loss of functionality, network connectivity or file sharing.
If you need OS/2 running native, why is this? While VMware is committed to x86 virtualization, with no partiality to the native operating system or the one running inside the virtual machine, we are not planning to support OS/2 as a native operating system at this time.
