| Ghostscript is an interpreter for the PostScript (TM) language. A PostScript interpreter usually takes as input a set of graphics commands. The output is usually a page bitmap which is then sent to an output device such as a printer or display. PostScript is embedded in many printers.

| GSview is a graphical interface for Ghostscript under MS-Windows or OS/2. Ghostscript is an interpreter for the PostScript page description language used by laser printers. For documents following the Adobe PostScript Document Structuring Conventions, GSview allows selected pages to be viewed or printed. GSview requires Ghostscript 7.04-9.19.
Changes in version 4.7: * Fix text extract for PDF files. * Text extract (pstotext) now recognises excessive space within text as being separate words. Recognises a few more ways of showing text. * Fix problem with forgetting page offset and device settings. * When displaying Full Screen on Windows with multiple monitors, display full screen on the last monitor. once again fixes a series of security vulnerabilities, and more! If you are using version 1.7.5, or earlier, or any of the I.B.M. web browsers (including the latest), you should upgrade. | GLE is a graphics language that produces postscript, EPS, PDF, PNG, or JPG ouput from a simple script file. The GLE scripting language is full featured with variables, subroutines, logic control, looping, and graphing tools. It is great for plotting and charting data.
How does GLE work? 1. Simply create a text file that contains commands. For example: =======snip snip snip [sample.gle]======= size 10 10 ! size of drawing area is 10 cm x 10 cm amove 1 1 ! move to position 1,1 in cm box 3 2 fill red ! draw a box that is 3cm by 2cm and fill it red ! note: the outline of the box is the current ! drawing color which is black by default set color blue ! sets drawing color to blue amove 4 4 ! moves to 4,4 in cm box 2 2 fill blue ! draws a box that is 2x2 cm filled in blue ! and outlined in blue set color black ! set color back to black set just cc ! set text justification to center center amove 5 7 ! move to (5,7)cm and draw some text text Hello World. =======snip snip snip==================== 2. DFSee version 7.01 has been released today, with some more imaging related functionality, superblock searches for recovery and lots of other enhancements and bug fixes! The FreeDOS bootable diskette and CDROM have been enhanced with a (FAT32 capable) FORMAT, and CDROM drivers, so in theory you should be able to create a bootable CDROM that includes images to be restored in case of a disaster ... DFSee is the SWISS-ARMY-KNIFE for disk and filesystem problems.
