eMozPrint: Printing with Firefox/Thunderbird 3+ (von hanno)
(D) eMozPrint 1.06T - 28.03.2010

(E) eMozPrint 1.06T - March, 28. 2010

This utility helps you to fill the lack of some Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird and Seamonkey versions, which do not offer \"direct-print\" support under eCS or OS/2 - they just create PDF files.
eMozPrint scans the desktop for PDF files created by Firefox, Thunderbird or Seamonkey. When a PDF is found, eMozPrint prints this files automatically or offers a dialog to print this file.

Qt4 apps S.T.E. and ASTranslator updated (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

Qt is a cross-platform application development framework, which is widely used as a widget toolkit for developing GUI programs but also for console tools and servers. Using Qt, developers can write applications once and deploy them across many desktop and embedded operating systems without having to rewrite the source code.

Availability for OS/2 and eComStation both means that developers can easily port existing Qt applications and create new ones more easily than with standard PM programming or the outdated, buggy IBM Open Class Library.

Firefox-3.6.2 uploaded to ftp.netlabs.org/pub/mozilla (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

Note, that the java plugin won’t work with this version. On the other
hand it has some new features like support of personas themes to
change the look of the main window (you will be automatically directed
to the personas home page after upgrading). Markedly, focus issues
should be solved with this version. So, if you don’t need java plugin
support you may want to give it a try. I’d be glad if someone steps up
to help me in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=519708 />maybe we can get back java plugin support for the 3.6 series.

Have fun, Walter

FireFox-3.5.9, SeaMonkey-2.0.4 and ThunderBird-3.0.4 uploaded to netlabs (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

A few days ahead of the official release for the other platforms, the OS/2 builds of the newest stability and security fixes can be downloaded from ftp://http://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/mozilla.

No special OS/2 fixes since the last versions. Thunderbird contains the lightning calendar extension. Except the known workaround fixes for the broken gcc-3.3.5 parser no further patches were necessary to build the apps.

Just for clarity - the scheduled release date is March 30th, and it is possible that there will be additional bug fixes prior to that.

OSFree News (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

Any developer is welcome on this open source project. There is still a lot to be done like in the following areas:

1. Presentation Manager. Draft sources exists from FreePM project. Sources allow to imagine architecture of PM (it is client-server, like X) and GPI part (GD used as background to provide primitives)

2. Installer subsystem. WarpIn based. We need to get warpin sources and provide special backends for installation time (this means not directly create WPS objects, profiles modification but create first-time-start scripts instead).

3. Command line tools. Make revision. Add missed features.

osFree is a FOSS (Free Open Source software) operating system development project, aiming to replace eventually all OS/2 subsystems with Open source analogues. It aims for OS/2 Warp 4 (Merlin) as a base compatibility system, which does not mean that we will not support features of newer (OS/2 Warp Server for e-business and eComStation) OS/2 versions. This includes rewriting not only user-level code but the OS/2 kernel too.

Visit the Project’s Homepage at: http://http://www.osfree.org

You can visit the Chat Room at: http://irc://efnet/osfree

Or you can visit the Forums at: http://http://www.osfree.org/board/

We are reusing many other Open Source projects.
The projects are listed at:
http://http://www.osfree.org/wiki/doku.php/en:credits

If you are a developer and you are willing to help us in building an Open Source OS/2 replacement please visit this page, we need your help:

Please remember that you can support OSFree by making a paypal donation at:

/>Thunderbird-3.0.3 fixes missing folders or empty folder pane after updating to Thunderbird 3.0.2.

Note: New mozilla app builds from me will no longer be uploaded to incoming but directly to pub/mozilla.

Enigmail-1.0.1 for OS/2 TB-3.0.x and SM-2.0.x available at enigmail.mozdev.org (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

I’m glad to announce that after a while, where some smaller quirks had to be ironed out, enigmail-1.0.1 can be downloaded from http://http://enigmail.mozdev.org Thanks to the developers for the upload to their site. Enigmail-1.0.1 works only with Thunderbird-3.0.x and Seamonkey-2.0.x. If you still use TB-2.0.0.x or SM-1.1.x you should stick to enigmail-0.95.7.

Have Fun, Walter
