XWorkplace v1.0.9 (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

I’m pleased to announce the release of XWP v1.0.9. It contains over 30 bugfixes and enhancements from Paul Ratcliffe, myself, and others. Special thanks go to Mensys for sponsoring some of these improvements.

Among the changes:

- Split View is now fully functional. Both panes should update properly
and all of the menus should work.

- You can now (successfully) set the default view for any file or folder
from its ’Open as’ menu using Shift+MB1 on the desired view.

- ACPI shutdown should not leave filesystems dirty any more.

- XFix has been thoroughly revised to make it safer and easier to use.
Handles are no longer deleted immediately and any problems caused
by a pending deletion are flagged so they can be corrected. A new
Auto-Protect feature prevents deletion of any handle the WPS might
require. XFix’s help panels have also been completely revised.

The base package plus NLS support packages for German and Dutch can be
downloaded from:

http://class='extlink'ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/incoming/xwp-1-0-9.exe
http://class='extlink'ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/incoming/xwp-1-0-9-nls-de.exe

GenINI package (generic INI file save/restore) updated (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

The GenINI (freeware) package for saving and restoring INI files has
been updated to version 1.40. You can get the new version from
http://class='extlink'ftp://ftp.pmoylan.org/software/genini1.40.zip />or from
http://class='extlink'http://www.pmoylan.org/pages/os2/genini.html />or from Hobbes.

This new version fixes an obscure bug that can cause infinite recursion
while dumping a long string that contains both kinds of quotation marks.
Since this is the first bug that has been reported in two years, the
software can be considered to be relatively stable.

Lightning 1.2.1 with all locales released (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

Hi, once the mirroring finishes, lightning 1.2.1 for Thunderbird 10.x and SeaMonkey 2.7.x should be available here,
http://class='extlink'; http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/calendar/lightning/releases/1.2.1/contrib/os2/ />
Hopefully automatic updates will work though they haven’t here yet.
This Lightning should have all locales included. I quickly tested German which to my non-German eyes seemed to work.

Thunderbird 10 (Earlybird) (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

I’ve uploaded Thunderbird 10, http://class='extlink'ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/incoming/mozilla/thunderbird-10.0.en-US.os2.zip.

Took over 10 hours :( so hopefully the upload is good.
MD5 is f93c7f822270c9584346af3ce2b69b62
When first run this version used a lot of memory here, forcing me to kill it the first couple of times due to swapping. I then ran it alone and it briefly allocated 800 MBs of memory then released 600 MBs and proceeded to reindex everything. I have some large folders and reindexing took quite a while (watch it in the Activity Manager under Tools) and after this it has ran fine using the expected 100MB or so of memory. This may have been a profile problem here but I’d advise on first start to not have anything else running and let it reindex. The reindexing may also be caused by SQLITE3 having been updated.
I’ll upload Lightning and Enigmail later.
Dave
