| This project is intended to create a seamless integration of CUPS into eComStation.
It consists of a the following components: * Port driver (PDR) which allows printing to a CUPS server. * Postscript printer driver replacement (PSCRIPT.DRV) to overcome the shortcomings of the current implementation * Printer install tool, detect printers on the CUPS server and allow to create them automatically in your OS/2 system * The CupsPort from Paul Smedley also contains Gutenprint and ESP Ghostscript. Serenity Systems International is pleased to announce the second public beta of OpenOffice.org 2.0 for eComStation and OS/2. This build is based on the 2.0.4 sourcecode of OpenOffice.org, making it on par with the current Windows releases. Beta 2 is available for immediate download in English, German, Italian, Spanish, French, Russian and Dutch to all customers of the Support Agreement for OpenOffice.org for eComStation and IBM OS/2, via their download-area at the Mensys Online Shop. | Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) (von NN) |
| There is a new homepage for CUPS (see URL below).
The site contains details on where we are headed with improving the printing support in eComStation. To see what printers are potentially supported, go to http://www.linuxprinting.org - printers mentioned as working with CUPS or Gutenprint should be supported. To support the project, it is really important to test out my cups build that was announced earlier this week. The readme contains step by step instructions on how to add a printer.
