| DFSee version 9.03 has been released today
It has a few minor bug fixes, but more importantly it is a pre-release of the \'Tx Advanced Scripting\' engine as presented at warpstock 2007 in Toronto. TxScript has been enhanced with many new features, making it a quite powerful scripting environment, some highlights: - Scalar and array variables - Expression evaluation for numbers and strings - Flow control with if-then-elseif-else, while, for, until - Access to much DFSee internal info using system variables For an introduction in TX advanced scripting see: http://www.dfsee.com/presentations.php Almost all features described there are present in 9.03, the few missing ones will be added in the upcoming 9.04. | Video/2 ist ein Versuch die vielen Videokassetten und DVDs zu bändigen, die bei uns allen daheim so rumliegen.
Wie all seine veröffentlichten Vorgänger wurde das Programm von mir auf Herz und Nieren geprüft und scheint zu funktionieren. Wenn mir das der eine oder andere per Mail mit einem \"habe es installiert und es läuft\" bestätigen könnte, wäre das sehr toll und würde meinen Antrieb weiter zu basteln sehr steigern. Drei solcher Mails habe ich übrigens schon bekommen... ;-) Meldungen über eventuelle Fehler und Designschwächen oder Wünsche sind aber natürlich auch immer willkommen. | Es existiert jetzt neu ein \"Warp4 style\" für das Qt 3 Toolkit für OS/2. Damit ist es im Prinzip möglich, Qt-Programme unter OS/2 einfach neu zu kompilieren, um ihnen ein Aussehen wie echte PM-Programme zu geben. Diesen \"Style\" habe ich selber zum ansonsten so weit von Dmitry Kuminov portierten Toolkit beigesteuert.
Qt ist eine Klassenbibliothek von Trolltech, die die Erstellung von portablen GUI-Anwendungen erlaubt. Sie ist für viele Betriebssysteme (u.a. Linux, Mac und Windows) erhältlich mit einer doppelten Lizenz: Open Source für Open Source-Projekte und kommerziell für kommerzielle Projekte. Nachdem IBM schon vor einiger Zeit VAC mitsamt der dazugehörigen GUI-Klassenbibliothek eingestellt hat (kein Support mehr, nicht mehr erhältlich ausser \"gebraucht\") bedeutet Qt für OS/2 die Chance, wieder eine mächtige Klassenbibliothek für GUI-Anwendungen (und mehr) zu bekommen. Man könnte auch salopp sagen: Was GCC für die Basis-Programmierung ist, ist Qt für die GUI-Programmierung: eine Chance, viele Programme aus der Linux- und Windows-Welt mit begrenztem Aufwand auf OS/2 oder eCS zu portieren. Bisher hat die Sache allerdings Einschränkungen: - Der OS/2-Port basiert bisher auf der Version 3.3.1 von Qt, während die offiziell letzte Version inzwischen schon bei 4.3 angelangt ist. - Dem OS/2-Port fehlen noch einige Features. - Der Warp4-Style hat noch ein paar bekannte Macken (und vermutlich noch ein paar mehr unbekannte). Dmitry und ich selber sind bemüht, im Rahmen unserer Möglichkeiten das Toolkit zu verbessern, aber uns beiden sind auch zeitliche Grenzen gesetzt! Unterstützung wäre sehr erwünscht, einerseits durch Benutzung des Toolkits und Melden von Fehlern und Problemen, andererseits durch aktive Beteiligung an der Portierung. Beispielsweise würden wir beide auch gerne das bisher Erreichte auf den Stand von Version 4.3 bringen... Schlussbemerkung: Bevor hier eine Diskussion über \"echt\" und \"native\" und \"Emulator\" usw. usf. losbricht: Qt \"malt\" auf allen unterstützten Betriebssystemen die Controls und Fenster praktisch Pixel für Pixel selber, und ebenso ist das jetzt auch für OS/2 realisiert. Bevor aber jetzt jemand \"pfui\" schreit: Nur so ist es möglich, all die auch konzeptionell unterschiedlichen Stile irgendwie unter ein Dach zu bekommen! Mit dem Nebeneffekt, dass man auch unter OS/2 seine Anwendung so starten kann, dass sie aussieht wie eine \"echte\" Motif- oder Windows-Anwendung... Ausnahme: Windows ab XP hat \"Hintertür-Funktionen\"; durch die eine Anwendung (oder auch Qt) explizit das Malen gewisser Fenster(teile) abwickeln kann, was dann auch eine bessere Unterstützung von \"Styles\" erlaubt; diese Styles laufen dann allerdings auch nur unter Windows. New enhanced releases again (Gecko 1.8.1.9 based this time) New versions of my enhanced Mozilla based apps - SeaMonkey 1.1.6 (PmW) - PmW-Fx 2.0.0.9 - PmW-Tb 2.0.0.9 are available via <http://pmw-warpzilla.sf.net/>. All applications need libc063.dll to run. (If you want speedy downloads, please wait an hour or two to let the sf.net mirrors pick up the files.) These releases pick up all the changes done by Mozilla (for their quick regression-fix update) since my Gecko 1.8.1.8 release, i.e. between 12 Oct 2007 and 25 Oct 2007.
