SCOUG meeting Saturday, December 18, 2010 (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

Saturday, December 18th
9:30 AM - 1 PM

Greg is going to show us the latest results his experiments running eCS under Virtual Machines. Some of you might recall that the last time we tried this the results were not all that good. This time perhaps with updated versions of the various VMs the results will be better this time.

Bob has a system that insists on booting slow, although it runs fine once booted. This month we are going to spend some time with pmdf and the kernel debugger to see if we can track down the reason and make it go away.

After this, it’s going to yet another Q&A session. Bring your questions.

As almost always, there will be coffee and donuts.

Room 326 of the Eastside Christian School
at the Grace Ministries Complex
1645 W Valencia Dr. in Fullerton

Warpstock 2011 call for letters of intent (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

If you want to have Warpstock in your area next year, send a letter or e-mail to Warpstock before December 31.

The Warpstock Corporation Board of Directors is now accepting bids from groups or individuals wishing to host Warpstock 2011.  Groups or individuals considering hosting Warpstock 2011 should submit a letter of their intent to host this event by e-mail to: bids [AT]  warpstock [DOT] org on or before December 31, 2010.

This letter of intent should contain a list of the individuals involved, the city or area in which the event would be held, and the suggested dates for the event. The directors suggest that the months of July or August after the July 4th holiday would be suitable. The letter of intent may contain any additional information about the proposed bid that the team wishes to share. It should also include the benefits of holding the event in their suggested location. This letter does not need to be in great detail about the proposed event, but rather, a commitment from the group about entering into the bid process.  The Board of Directors will remain in close contact with the teams throughout the entire bid process, including final site selection.
Now is the time to start!  Let’s make Warpstock 2011 a memorable event!
More information is available at: http://class='extlink'http://www.warpstock.org

Questions about hosting the event can be directed to the Board of Directors at: bids [AT] warpstock [DOT] org

Warpstock Corporation is a Virginia corporation. Warpstock
Corporation is an organization of volunteers dedicated to promoting
education, information, and social opportunities to those persons
interested in computer operating systems and related software through
the production of at least an annual technology conference.
