| A document viewer for eComStation designed as a replacement for Acrobat Reader. One goal of Lucide is to have a fast document viewer which is well integrated in the eComStation WPS and supports features like drag and drop and printing and which makes as easy as possible to work with PDF and other files on eComStation.

The Sunbird Project is a cross platform standalone calendar application based on Mozilla\'s XUL user interface language If you have access to the eComstation BetaZone: http://betazone.ecomstation.com you can download Sunbird version 0.3a2+ for eCS. It has been there since August 17th, but it wouldn\'t run for me so I held off on posting this. The fix was to download MZFNTCFG dll from: http://www.aip.de/People/PWeilbacher/WO/Mozilla/Gecko1805/mzfntcfg_322.zip and put that in the sunbird directory. Since Sunbird is based on Mozilla code, if you are running other Mozilla apps like SeaMonkey, FireFox, IBM Web Browser or Thunderbird, then most likely there will be a conflict in some of the shared modules. Programs may be written to use this code, and thus be able to access a variety of file formats without actually knowing what format the pictures are in, or any details about file format itself. In this version, extended BMP, PNG, TIF, PBM, PGM, PPM and PNM support is additionally included. PNG and TIF support also 16, 32, 48, 64 bpp colour depths with/without alpha channel. PPM supports also 48 bpp colour depth. BMP supports also OS/2 RLE24 and Windows 16/32 bpp RGB and BITFIELDS formats. It comes with a useful set of command line bitmap manipulation tools. Why this introduction to GCC? I\'m an OS/2 user since 1992. Recently, i feel the need to learn a programming language. Since the VAC from IBM is not longer supported in Warp, and since i saw the benefits added in OS/2-eComStation from opensource, and considering that the wonderful OpenWatcom is still in a quick full-develop stage, and i did not noise expert programmers with a lot of questions; the GNU GCC Compiler was for me the natural choice, because it is stable, fully supported in eComStation and the most popular, so FAQ and quick references are easy to find in internet. Finally, i decided to download and install the package from Innotek (www.innotek.de). But when all was ready, i saw that there was not a native OS/2 manual or a quick reference in the package easy to consult (not INF or PDF file, but only *nix man pages), sure, due to the popularty of the GCC, it was not necessary!!. So, to begin, it was necessary for me to get info directly from the word-wilde-web, easy sure, but no convenient :-)!. Beside my printed C-Language manual on the desktop, what i was looking for, was quick and easy abridged version available in native OS/2 format, ready to consult with NewView. There was not! I realize that it was indispensable to learning process, because, in a native environment, it should reduce \"search-times\" for all that C or C++ ripetitive commands and swiches, or error messages, not yet memorized. Searching the web, \"An Introduction to GCC\" from Brian Gough was suitable I hope that this \"Introduction to GCC\", ported in native OS/2 help format, will make easy to learn the GCC C and C++ language for all OS/2 and eComStation users that, like me, would begin, and - why not - should also help a professional programmer to find something quickly! The GCC Compiler has married OS/2 & eComStation rather a long, so...it was necessary a native, quick references guide! Now, i\'m working on \"The GNU Compiler Collection Reference Manual\" By Richard M. Stallman and the GCC Developer Community, more long but the very bible of GCC. I hope to upload it as soon as possible. Additional video modes are now available, including 2048x1536 (if supported by the monitor). Video overlays are also available in more modes, and a number of video overlay bugs were fixed. Additional system memory can be allocated for use with the video driver, using the \"gaoption agpmem\" option; note that this does not always work well on at least some i845G systems. Limiting the size of the video memory using \"gaoption vidmem\" no longer causes the driver to crash. The i915G, i915GM, i945G, and i945GM chipsets have also been recertified. . Updated the driver for the Radeon 9200 through X800 desktop chipsets, fixing a few video overlay bugs. Larger video overlays (HD 1080p) can now be displayed. Unaccelerated 24bpp modes have been removed. . The VBE driver now forces VBE 2.0 on ATI ATOM BIOS cards, as they do not support VBE 3.0 properly. In addition, it now always uses the BytesPerScanLine value from the BIOS, which resolves the problem of some modes being scrambled. . Turning on rotation (or flipped) no longer causes an immediate crash, and it is roughly as functional as it was in the past. However, it is still incomplete and unsupported on the OS/2 desktop! . | Am 2.08.2006 wurde die Java Movie Database 1.35 Beta2 veröffentlicht.
Die Java Movie Database (JMDB) ist ein Java Program das die Daten der IMDb Textdateien (Internet Movie Database - http://www.imdb.com) in mehreren MySQL/PostgreSQL Tabellen speichert. Nach dem Import der Daten, kann man nach Schauspielern, Filmen, Produzenten und Regisseuren suchen. Zu den Filmen und Personen werden dann diverse Details angezeigt. Es wird ein Update auf die aktuelle Version empfohlen, da Änderungen an den IMDb Daten (seit Ende Januar 2006 - Folgen von Fernsehserien,...) in ab der JMDB 1.35 berücksichtigt werden (bei der Datenbank Abfrage kann man Folgen von Serien ausblenden). In der Beta2 wurde die Ausblendung von Folgen einer Serie auch in die Suche nach \"Erscheinungsdatum\" integriert. Daneben unterstützt die aktuelle Version nun neben MySQL auch das PostgreSQL Datenbank-System. Gegenüber der ersten Beta wurde hauptsächlich Fehler in der Suche korrigiert, die dazu führten das die MySQL 4/5 Einstellung im Setup nicht für die Suche nutzbar war (somit mußte nach dem Import auf MySQL 3 umgestellt werden). All diese Fehler und einige mehr sind in der aktuellen Version behoben. Darüber hinaus wurden die Abfragen für MySQL 4 und 5 optimiert (um den Faktor 2 schneller als zuvor) und auch der PDF Export von Personen- und Filmdetails wurde verbessert. Ein Problem gibt es leider nach wie vor mit Innoteks Java 1.4.2_05 (Details in der bugs.txt), so dass hier evtl. einmal mehr der \"Suchen\" Knopf betätigt werden muss. GoldenCode Java 1.4.1 (eCS und OS/2), sowie die getesteten Java 1.5.x unter Windows machen keine Probleme. | Video/2 ist ein Versuch die vielen Videokassetten und DVDs zu bändigen, die bei uns allen daheim so rumliegen.
Wie all seine veröffentlichten Vorgänger wurde das Programm von mir auf Herz und Nieren geprüft und scheint zu funktionieren. Wenn mir das der eine oder andere per Mail mit einem \"habe es installiert und es läuft\" bestätigen könnte, wäre das sehr toll und würde meinen Antrieb weiter zu basteln sehr steigern. Zwei solcher Mails habe ich übrigens schon bekommen... ;-) Meldungen über eventuelle Fehler und Designschwächen oder Wünsche sind aber natürlich auch immer willkommen.
