eMozPrint 1.81T: Printing for FireFox, Thunderbird ... (von hanno)
Changes since version 1.80T:
* changed useabilty to \"31.04.2011\"
* check value for \"corrupt PDF\" changed from =0 to <=1000 Bytes

Please take a look at the readme \\\"Remarks and hints\\\" for information about the really cool addon \\\"Univeral Print\\\" in conjunction with eMozPrint!

(D) eMozPrint 1.81T - 24.12.2010

(E) eMozPrint 1.81T - december, 24. 2010
This utility helps you to fill the lack of some Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird and Seamonkey versions, which do not offer direct-print support under eCS or OS/2 - they just create PDF files. eMozPrint scans the desktop for PDF files created by Firefox, Thunderbird or Seamonkey. When a PDF is found, eMozPrint prints this files automatically or offers a dialog to print this files.

D Bit Ersatz-11 available for OS/2 (von A. Kohl)
Ersatz-11 emulates an entire PDP-11 system in software while running on low-cost PC hardware. It outperforms all of the hardware PDP-11 replacements on the market, outstripping them by a particularly wide margin in disk-intensive applications. Hardware PDP-11 replacements that use a Q-bus, Unibus, or ISA bus for I/O can\'t come close to Ersatz-11\'s disk performance because they are limited to the speed of the I/O bus for all disk transfers, regardless of actual disk (or disk cache) speed. Ersatz-11 avoids this bottleneck since it uses the PC\'s main memory and takes advantage of the tight disk-to-memory coupling in modern PCs.

Ersatz-11 is by far the least expensive PDP-11 replacement product on the market. It quickly pays for itself in reduced maintenance, power, and climate control costs. Since its CPU is powered by the PC\'s processor and not a special-purpose processor card, there\'s no expensive custom hardware to maintain, and future upgrades to the PC\'s processor will make its PDP-11 emulation even faster.

Commercial use is limited to 30-day evaluation.

updated hexglas to v1.2.0 (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

HexGlass is a Tetris-like puzzle game based on a hexagonal grid.

Ten different types of blocks continuously fall from above and you must arrange them to make horizontal rows of hexagonal bricks. Completing any row causes those hexagonal blocks to disappear and those above move downwards. The blocks gradually fall faster and the game is over when the screen fills up and blocks can no longer fall from the top.

1.2.0

UI/view:

- The best three results for each game size are displayed

- A careful dropping mode where dropping is cancelled when the space key is released was added.

- UI/translations were added:

- Czech (cs)

- Ukrainian (uk)

GenINI utilities version 1.3 (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

The GenINI utilities, a freeware INI file save/restore package, have been updated to version 1.3. This is to fix a rare but fatal bug in string handling. You can find the new version at
http://class='extlink'http://www.pmoylan.org/pages/os2/genini.html />or you can download it directly from
http://class='extlink'ftp://ftp.pmoylan.org/software/genini13.zip />(A copy will be put on Hobbes in due course, but is not yet there.)

The package consists of two programs to translate between INI and TNI files. A TNI file (text-mode INI) contains INI data in human-readable form. You need this package if either
  - you want to save INI files in human-readable form; or
  - if you use Weasel or MajorMajor, two of my programs
that offer the option of using TNI files instead of INI files.

DiffPdf v1.1.4 (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

DiffPDF is used to compare two PDF files.

By default the comparison is of the text on each pair of pages, but comparing the appearance of pages is also supported (for example, if a diagram is changed or a paragraph reformatted). It is also possible to compare particular pages or page ranges. For example, if there are two versions of a PDF file, one with pages 1-12 and the other with pages 1-13 because of an extra page having been added as page 4, they can be compared by specifying two page ranges, 1-12 for the first and 1-3, 5-13 for the second. This will make DiffPDF compare pages in the pairs (1, 1), (2, 2), (3, 3), (4, 5), (5, 6), and so on, to (12, 13).

A couple of example PDF files are provided online so that you can try it out. PDF files can be loaded from the GUI (by pressing the File #1 and File #2 buttons), or by specifying them on the command line. More information is available in the program’s tooltips and About box.

Update TexmakerX to v2.0a (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

TexMakerX is a fork of the LaTeX IDE TexMaker and gives you an environment where you can easily create and manage LaTeX documents. It provides modern writing support, like interactive spell checking, code folding and syntax highlighting. Also it serves as a starting point from where you can easily run all necessary LaTeX tools. (you can see more features below)

You can run it on Windows, Unix/Linux, BSD and MacOSX systems and modify it if you want, since it is licensed under the GPL.

Althought TexMakerX has a lot of additional features, it tries to be like an improved version of Texmaker, so it keeps it look&feel as well as its version number.

Firefox v4.0b8pre/Seamonkey v2.1b2pre/Thunderbird v3.3a2pre Betas (von http://news.warpevents.eu/)

New betas of Firefox, Seamonkey, and Thunderbird are now available.
They feature improved video performance and font selection, as well
as enhancements featured in previous betas such as printing support
and memory management improvements. They also have two known bugs.

* Firefox v4.0b8pre:
http://class='extlink'ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/incoming/mozilla/firefox-20101204.zip /> or
http://class='extlink'http://e-vertise.com/warpzilla/firefox-20101204.zip /> * Seamonkey v2.1b2pre:

Video />-----
Dramatic reductions in CPU usage will be seen when viewing OGG videos,
and to a lesser extent, WebM videos thanks to a patch from Dave Yeo.

Users of the SNAP and GenGradd video drivers running their displays in
full-color mode (i.e. 16m colors) should see a noticeable improvement
in video performance thanks to the implementation of DIVE. Sadly, the
Panorama driver can not be supported if its "Shadow Buffer" is enabled.
See the ’Notes’ section below for details on how to disable or tune
DIVE support.

Font Selection
--------------
A patch from Alex Taylor improves font selection when less common font
weights such as "Thin" or "Heavy" are specified.

Ko Myung-hun has supplied a patch to select DBCS fonts correctly,
especially when the fontname is encoded in the native character set.

Previous Enhancements
---------------------
Printing Support: All native printer drivers will work if their output
resolution is set to 360 DPI or less. Mozilla’s built-in Postscript
support is also available for use, as is its PDF support. Please read
PRINTING.txt in the exe’s directory for details.

Memory Management: With a few trivial exceptions, the Mozilla apps no
longer use any shared memory beyond what is needed to load their dlls.
Problems that have been attributed to low or no shared memory should
not occur.

Copy Link Location: A bug that caused characters to be deleted from URLs
when using the ’Copy Link Location’ menu item has been fixed.

Bugs
----
Seamonkey and Thunderbird always start in Offline mode regardless of
the settings you select.

All three apps will occasionally "smear" the video when scrolling. In
most cases, the easiest workaround is to resize the window slightly to
force its redisplay.

Notes
-----
DIVE lets an app bypass PM’s graphics subsystem and write directly to
your video card’s memory. This improves display speed but can cause
problems on some systems, particularly corruption caused by the mouse
pointer. Use the following to disable DIVE or tune its performance:

To disable DIVE support:
- uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when possible".
In Firefox, it’s on the Options dialog’s ’Advanced->General’ tab.
In Seamonkey, this is in Preferences under ’Appearance->Content’.
Thunderbird does not provide this option.
- start the app in "safe mode" (use "/safe-mode" on the command line)
- add "SET MOZ_ACCELERATED=0" to config.sys.

To eliminate mouse-pointer corruption (required for SNAP in VBE mode):
- add "SET MOZ_ACCELERATED=1" to config.sys.

To eliminate mouse-pointer flickering (may cause video corruption):
- add "SET MOZ_ACCELERATED=2" to config.sys.

Support
-------
Community support for these betas and all Mozilla apps is available
through the newsgroups ’mozilla.dev.ports.os2’ or ’comp.os.os2.apps’.
Messages posted to other forums may not be seen by the developers.
